About

Sebastion gros

Born and raised in Chamonix, Seb grew up surrounded by the mountains. From a very young age, he followed in the footsteps of his grandfather, a high mountain guide, and fell deeply in love with the alpine world. On skis before he could even walk, he trained in cross-country skiing until his teenage years, before shifting his focus to alpine skiing and academics. He became a certified ski instructor and earned a Master’s degree in Sports Management.

Based between Chamonix, Megève, and Courmayeur, Seb has been teaching skiing since 1995. After three seasons with UCPA, he joined the French Ski School of Chamonix for 13 years. In parallel, he earned his mountain leader certification and guided for 20 years with the prestigious Compagnie des Guides de Chamonix.

Throughout his career, Seb has also worked as a technical advisor for the French Federation for Disabled Sports, served as Deputy Director of the Chamonix Sports Club, and has been passing on his knowledge and passion to the next generation. Since 2014, he has been teaching mountain guiding to vocational high school students at the Frison Roche School in Chamonix.

Driven by a deep passion for skiing, hiking, trail running, and mountain culture, Seb shares the spirit of the Alps with authenticity and enthusiasm. And when he’s not on the trails or the slopes, you’ll likely find him exploring the world through travel and scuba diving.
