Castellane
Nestled at 724 m above sea level, Castellane is the gateway to the Verdon Gorge. Dominated by the impressive 184 m high Roc crowned with the Notre-Dame du Roc chapel, the village charms visitors with its cobbled streets, lively squares, and shaded terraces. It is the perfect starting point to explore the canyon and showcases a rich medieval heritage.

The Grand Canyon of the Verdon
With a depth of 700 m and 21 km in length, it is considered the largest canyon in Europe. Carved by the Verdon River over millennia, it reveals breathtaking limestone cliffs, spectacular viewpoints, and suspended trails. The contrast between pale rock and turquoise waters creates a truly stunning landscape, a paradise for hikers and lovers of wide-open spaces.

Moustiers-Sainte-Marie
Clinging to the mountainside, this village, classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France, is famous for its faience pottery and timeless atmosphere. A golden star suspended between two cliffs watches over its narrow streets and artisan workshops. Moustiers is also a must-stop for gastronomy and culture along the Verdon route.

Le lac de Sainte-Croix
Created in 1974 with the dam, this 22 km² artificial lake is now an iconic site in the Verdon region. Its emerald waters, fed by the river, invite swimming, canoeing, or simply relaxing on its beaches. It offers a striking contrast to the rugged canyon cliffs, providing a refreshing break at the end of the day.

Valensole Plateau and Lavender Fields
In summer, the Valensole Plateau becomes a living canvas, with endless lavender fields spreading their intoxicating scent. This iconic Provençal landscape offers unique colors and fragrances, creating a magical experience for photographers and nature lovers. The surrounding charming villages complete this exceptional sensory journey.

Quinson
Located downstream of the Verdon, this peaceful Provençal village is home to the largest Prehistory Museum in Europe, tracing a million years of human history. Its picturesque streets and tranquil atmosphere invite leisurely exploration. From Quinson, the gorges become more secluded, with trails winding through a wild, mineral landscape away from the tourist crowds.
